Mayfive Hair
London
Hair & Beauty
1-10
MAYFIVE is a boutique hair salon in Chiswick, founded by Katie Allan in 2018. Known for its calm, design-led space and personalised approach, the salon blends technical expertise with a relaxed, welcoming feel.
Offering everything from colour and cuts to extensions and tailored treatments, MAYFIVE has built a strong local reputation for high-quality results and a genuinely thoughtful client experience.
The team found the site hard to manage internally, making even small updates time-consuming and reliant on outside support.
Services weren’t clearly structured, and pricing wasn’t easy to find or understand. This made it harder for new clients to explore treatments and make informed decisions.
The user journey wasn’t intuitive, with no clear flow guiding visitors from landing on the site through to booking an appointment.
Essential elements like a blog, clear service menus, and detailed treatment information were either missing or clunky, limiting both user experience and discoverability.
The site didn’t showcase the salon’s values, team, or partnerships, and failed to capture the personality and identity of the brand as it stands now.

We started with a discovery phase to understand the salon, its goals, and what wasn’t working with the existing site. From there, I mapped out a new sitemap and wireframes to improve the structure and make the user journey clearer.
Next, we pulled together the content, photography, and brand assets needed for the new site. This helped shape a digital experience that felt true to MAYFIVE’s refined, modern, and approachable brand.
Using Figma, I created a fresh visual direction inspired by the salon’s interiors and premium feel. The aim was to elevate the brand online while making the site feel polished, calm, and easy to navigate.
Once the designs were approved, I built the website in Webflow. The site was developed to be fully responsive, easy to manage internally, and set up with a CMS for services and blog content. Key features like pricing tables, treatment descriptions, gift vouchers, and Timely booking integration were also added.
Before launch, I put the final checks in place to make sure everything was working smoothly across devices and key user journeys. SEO foundations were also set up to help the new site perform better in search.
Ongoing support to ensure the team can confidently manage the site, plus a one-month review using Google Analytics to highlight performance, user behaviour, and opportunities to improve.
The new structure makes it quick and easy to take action, with clear calls-to-action and a simplified journey from homepage to booking.
